Ice, Snow, and an Earthquake

I had to go to work on Monday, but knew that the weather could get bad.  The possibility of getting 1 or 2 days at home with Bo was fabulous.  Well, turns out I got Tuesday - Friday off!  My mama said I was lucky….I said God knows what we can handle and he knew I needed some quality time with my little guy!  We had the best week!

The ice (yes frozen rain…not sleet) started falling on Tuesday and it continued off and on until sometime in the night early Thursday morning.  As I said in the last post, Jay ran a few errands Tuesday to get ready and we already had gone to the grocery store.

Thankfully, we never lost power, but it was really nasty out.  We finally ventured out Thursday for a walk and a trip to the Academy even though we needed nothing.  Bo fell first thing Tuesday morning and got a nice little goose egg on his head…boys...

Then Friday night, we are watching the Olympics.  Jay had just fallen asleep on the couch and I felt this crazy vibrating.  I thought I had overloaded the washer or something then I realized that I hadn't run a load of clothes.  Then I paused the TV because it sounded like a helicopter was right over our house.  By the time I had done that it had stopped.  I didn't think much of it, although the thought of an earthquake did cross my mind.  I quickly dismissed it because…really…in Georgia??  About 2 minutes later I got a few texts and then saw on Facebook that I was not crazy.  Of course both boys slept right through it….

This weekend we enjoyed some family time, catching up on things around the house.  Today we took a walk through 5 points and let Bo run around at the intermural fields.

Hope y'all had a good week!

Snow Day!

Two weeks ago, Bo had his first snow day.  It wasn't exactly how I anticipated it would be…..

I got done with my school day early.  They released students and teachers to beat the weather.  I called Jay when I got in the car and he said he didn't think Bo was feeling well since he woke up from his nap.  I got home and we took his temp and sure enough it was high.  So I quickly called the pediatrician.  Meanwhile, the snow is FALLING and Jay and I are hoping they haven't closed their office early.  Thankfully they hadn't.  I already a doctors appointment scheduled so Jay and Bo had to go to the pediatrician without me.  Lo and behold, Bo has the flu.

Jay and I embraced the fact that our exciting snow day off to hang out as a family might be really rough considering Bo was sick.

Bo must have misunderstood the doctor cause he never once even acted like he didn't feel well!  We even took him to play in the snow the next day for about 10 minutes.

It was a crazy couple of days with everything that happened in Atlanta and such but now they are saying that winter storm Pax will be way worse.  I was home today and the snow and ice are about to start falling.  Only time will tell how bad this will get.  Jay got gas for the generator and ice just in case.  Thankfully we went to the grocery store on Sunday, just because I go every two weeks anyhow.  So we are set!  I just hope we don't lose power!!  We are hunkered down ready to go!

And bonus...we get a flu-free snow day redo!

Hum….what is this stuff?

This is kinda cool guys!

Wait…if I fall it is cold…good to know.

Here is the snow everybody!!!

Sweet love!

Sick Sick Sick

So it has been a long 4 weeks.  Since Bo and I have started school, he has been sick with something every single week.  Cold, fever, flu, you name it.  Thank goodness we haven't had an ear infection yet or worse and so far he has proved to be a fairly okay sick kid.  A little whiney but for the most part in a good mood.  Thankfully Jay has a flexible schedule since Bo hasn't been able to go to school every day.  Hopefully with warmer weather, there will be less illness be spread around!  Come on Spring!!!

Bo likes to play with his book bag, which is really Worth's from when he was baby.  I think Mama used it as a diaper bag.  (I have been meaning to ask you, Ashley, if you want it for Mack!).  So he was playing with it Sunday so I put it on his back…even though he is to sick for school he was ready to go!!

For Christmas I gave Bo and Jay a tee ball set.  I knew it would be fun this summer but we busted it out this past weekend since the weather was finally nice!  (Snow on Wednesday, 70 on Saturday….oh mother nature).  Again I say…come on Spring!!

Bathtime!

Compare to last year….
